01What's included on the Free tier?
500 API calls a month, the OG / Diagram / Sitemap endpoints, every utility tool at /tools, and no credit card. The free quota resets on the 1st of each month UTC.
02What counts as a "call"? Do failed requests burn quota?
One billable call = one successful (2xx) response from /v1/*. 4xx and 5xx responses do not count against your quota. Network retries you make are counted on each attempt.
03When does my quota reset?
On the 1st of each calendar month at 00:00 UTC. The dashboard at /products/dev-api/dashboard shows your current-month usage in real time.
04What happens if I hit my quota mid-month?
You get a 429 Too Many Requests with a Retry-After header until the next month or the tier you upgrade to has room. We do not silently charge overages.
05Can I switch tiers mid-month?
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately and we prorate the difference. Downgrades take effect on the next billing cycle.
06Is there a discount for annual billing?
Scale and Enterprise offer an annual discount — talk to us for the exact number. Pro is monthly only for now.
07Do you offer a discount for open-source projects, students, or non-profits?
Yes for OSS maintainers and educators. Email hello@elofyn.com with a link to your project or institution.
08Are the utility tools at /tools metered against my API quota?
No. The 20+ utility tools run 100% in your browser — your input never leaves your laptop. They are free on every tier and there is no rate limit. (Constitution §3: privacy is a feature.)
09Where is my data processed?
The API runs on Elofyn-managed infrastructure in the EU. We log only the minimum needed to bill you — see the DPA, available on request, and the subprocessor list on the upcoming /security page (Phase A.5).
10How do I cancel? Do you offer refunds?
Cancel anytime from /products/dev-api/dashboard; access continues until the end of your billing cycle. Pro-rated refunds are available within 14 days of upgrade if the API doesn't fit.

Enterprise plans cover SSO / SAML, dedicated support, audit log export, and a 99.9% SLA. We answer every inquiry within two business days. If your security team needs paperwork before a call, the trust center lists subprocessors and a draft DPA; a counter-signed copy follows on request.
